As organizations grow and adopt cloud-native technologies, securing digital infrastructure at scale has become increasingly complex. According to the Cloud Security Alliance, 73% of organizations struggle to secure business-critical cloud applications due to misconfigurations and limited risk visibility.

Ransomware alone can cost companies millions, and with the rise in cyber threats, even cyber insurance may not fully protect them from repeated attacks. Balancing system protection with operational efficiency is more challenging for security teams facing resource constraints than ever.

At Astra Security, we aim to make security simple, proactive, and scalable without compromising usability or accessibility. With OrbitX, we provide security leaders with an intuitive, CXO-friendly platform that offers a clear, real-time view of their security posture, enabling them to pinpoint and address issues quickly—keeping pace with their product roadmaps and standards.

This autumn, we’ve focused on making OrbitX even more user-friendly by improving navigation and speeding up response times.

 Here’s a look at what’s new:

1. Quick Accessibility Enhancements

What’s Improved
We’ve introduced key updates in OrbitX to make accessing and interacting with essential features faster and more efficient:

  • Start a Scan Button: We’ve added a dedicated “Start a Scan” button, so initiating a scan is just one click away after configuring your target setup.
Start-a-scan
  • Enhanced Vulnerability Insights: Our improved vulnerability details sheet offers improved readability and quicker decision-making. It features wider target badges, bolded key information, and a restructured header for a more intuitive and actionable view of potential threats.

The Problem
Security operations demand quick, precise actions. Yet, navigating multiple interfaces or searching for essential features can slow your team down. To address the need for speed and clarity, we’ve streamlined critical tasks – launching scans and reviewing vulnerabilities – minimizing friction to keep your team agile and efficient.

The Impact

  • One-Click Scanning: You can initiate scans with a single click, saving time and ensuring faster responses to security issues.
  • Simplified Data Interaction: The improved vulnerability details layout ensures you can easily find and focus on the most critical information.

2. Simplified Navigation & Interaction

What’s Improved
OrbitX’s user interface has been refined to improve navigation, offering a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

  • Refined Sidebar Icons: Updated sidebar icons offer better clarity, helping you quickly identify and access features.

  • Quick Access to Scans and Pentests: You can now access all scans and pentests related to a target directly from the target settings page, saving time and reducing the need for unnecessary clicks.
Quick access

The Problem
Clear navigation and quick access to information are essential in a vulnerability scanner, especially when security teams face urgent threats and tight response windows.

As such, the above improvements were designed to reduce cognitive load and minimize distractions, enabling security professionals to focus on high-priority tasks rather than wasting time on navigation.

The Impact

  • Faster Navigation: The updated sidebar icons make it easier to navigate, so you can spend less time searching and more time securing your assets.
  • Effortless Workflow: With quick access to scans and pentests directly from the target settings page, you can act faster and stay ahead of potential threats.

3. Enhanced ‘Remember This Device for 7 Days’ Feature for Seamless Access

What’s Improved
We’ve enhanced the login experience so users who select “Remember this device for 7 days” can now enjoy seamless, uninterrupted access on return logins from the same device. Designed to reduce the need for repeated MFA, we aim to streamline secure access for trusted devices.

The Problem
Simply put, requiring MFA on every login slows down your team, interrupts workflows, and wastes unnecessary time. With this update, we aim to simplify login workflows further and improve efficiency without sacrificing security.

The Impact

  • Seamless Access: With the updated “Remember this device” feature, you won’t be prompted for MFA again for 7 days, simplifying logins.
  • Improved Efficiency: Fewer interruptions mean you can spend more time on tasks that move your work forward rather than on repetitive security steps.

Wrapping up

This autumn’s update marks another step forward in our journey to make OrbitX a platform that keeps pace with the evolving needs of security teams and their new challenges. With improved scanning and scheduling capabilities, simplified processes, and optimized user experiences, we hope to have helped you focus on what matters most: staying ahead of threats and protecting your assets.

As we look toward the next quarter, OrbitX will continue to expand its coverage, offering deeper insights into crucial security areas for your digital infrastructure.
