What is CIDR format?

Classless inter-domain routing (CIDR) is a set of Internet protocol (IP) standards that is used to create unique identifiers for networks and individual devices. CIDR IP addresses consist of two groups of numbers, which are also referred to as groups of bits.

Example of IP range in CIDR format:

Here, the “” is the network address itself and the “18” says that the first 18 bits are the network part of the address, leaving the last 14 bits for specific host addresses. If you have range of ip address (start ip address and end ip address), you can convert them into CIDR range using this link.
