You can sign up for Astra’s Affiliate Program here. After your account is approved, you can log in to your affiliate dashboard and start using your unique link to promote Astra. Along with the link, you will also get access to promotional banners, videos, Astra logos and other marketing materials that you can use to promote Astra on your website or any other social posts.

When a customer clicks on one of your affiliate links, lands on Astra’s website and makes a purchase within 60 days, you will receive a commission from the sale value.

Whenever a user lands on Astra’s website using your Affiliate link, a cookie corresponding to your affiliate ID is stored. If by any chance the user leaves without making a purchase, the cookie still persists.

The cookie persists for 60 days and if a user returns to the Astra and makes a purchase within 60 days after clicking on your affiliate link, you will be awarded the sales commission.

Commission payments are made via PayPal to the PayPal email that affiliate has entered in their dashboard. Affiliates need to make sure that they have the correct PayPal email updated in their dashboard to receive eligible payouts.

Once your account is approved, you will get access to a unique affiliate ID and thus your unique links. Any conversion using this link will be properly tracked in real time. You can track your link’s performance and metrics from your affiliate dashboard.

The commission that may be earned is detailed as follows –

25% of the conversion amount, conversion amount being the amount paid by your successfully referred customer.

Commission Structure

Great question! A lot of affiliate programs out there do not give any leverage to the customer for buying from affiliate links. Not us.

We understand that you love to help your customers/users and we are here to help you help them. So, customers using your link will get a 5% lifetime discount on the purchase of any plan. This is a great incentive for customers to buy using your link.

1.      Astra issues commission payments at most once a month in last week of every month.

2.      Commissions are eligible for approval after 1 month of a successful conversion. Eligible commissions are approved and subsequently paid in the next payment cycle in the last week of the month.

3.      Payment shall be only be made if the balance of all approved commissions due is more than $50. If the balance of commissions due is less than $50 the balance shall remain in the Affiliate’s account until the next payment cycle in which the balance of commissions due exceeds $50.

4.      For eg. An affiliate gets a successful conversion of an annual business plan on 1^st May 2019, the commission of $339 will be eligible for approval after 30 days on 1^st June 2019 and will be approved and paid in the last week of June 2019. Another affiliate gets a successful conversion of an annual essential plan on 1^st May 2019, the commission of $25 will be eligible for approval after 30 days on 1^st June 2019 however it will not be approved and not be paid if the total pending commission balance of the affiliate is less than $50.

Yes, the default affiliate code is auto-generated. You can change this code to whatever you like.

Just click on the “Advanced” dropdown in the assets section of your affiliate dashboard. You will see your current affiliate code in the bottom. Click on the pencil icon right next to it to change the code.

Be aware that when a referral code has been updated, the previously created & shared referral codes will no longer work. So make sure to update the previous links wherever you have posted them. Also, make sure that the updated referral code is embedded in all the banners/images that you use.

The referral codes are not case-insensitive, meaning that ?secure=IronMan and ?secure=ironman are considered the same code.

Definitely, you can point your users to any page which on Astra’s website (starting with www.getastra.com). Just append “?secure=YourAffiliateID” to any link on Astra’s website & the conversions will be tracked and mapped to your account.

Eg. If your referral code is “ironman”, you will see this link in your affiliate dashboard – https://www.getastra.com/pricing?secure=ironman

Now suppose you want to point to our blog about Common WordPress Mistakes, you can take the blog link – https://www.getastra.com/blog/cms/wordpress-security/common-wordpress-mistakes/ and append your referral code with ?secure to it. So the final link that you will share is

You will be asked for PayPal email while signing up. You can also add or update your PayPal email from your dashboard. Click on your initials in the bottom left corner of the dashboard and click on Payout Methods. Here you can add/update your PayPal email ID.

If you plan to buy on behalf of your clients from your own account. Eg. if you are an agency who buys on behalf of their clients then you should consider being a partner. Partners are eligible for upfront discounts depending on the number of websites they secure.

If you plan to promote Astra for others to buy and then earn a commission then you should become an Affiliate. Eg. If you have a blog where you plan to promote Astra and earn commissions whenever any reader of yours buys Astra, or if you are an agency and your clients prefer to purchase Astra themselves, you can use your unique affiliate link to achieve that and earn commissions. Affiliates get a 25% recurring commission on the purchase amount till the time the customer stays with Astra. Also, clients of the affiliates get a 5% lifetime discount on the listed price.

If both the use cases are applicable in your case, you can be both a Partner & an Affiliate. In that case, all the licenses you buy using your account would be eligible for an upfront discount and licenses bought using your unique Affiliate link would make you eligible to receive the applicable commissions.
